Ricky Gervais returns to his iconic creation from the award-winning The Office to give David Brent his very first motion picture. David Brent: Life on the Road catches up with the Slough-based entertainer 12 years after The Office came to a bittersweet conclusion. While he’ll never stop trying to be a rock and roll superstar, Brent’s current circumstances has him selling cleaning products on the road.
In typical David Brent fashion, he’s not letting a small thing like having no talent as a musician stand in his way of living the rockstar dream. Mounting a last attempt to find fame and fortune, Brent embarks on a self-financed tour of the UK with his new band. Naturally, expect painfully awkward comedy and a likely reprise of Brent’s infamous dancing skills.
Written and directed by Gervais, David Brent: Life on the Road arrives in UK cinemas on August 19.
