7 Days In Hell Trailer

7-Days-In-Hell

There’s just under a week to go until the start of Wimbledon 2015, the popular sporting event might be thrilling to its fans but it has yet to inspire a good movie. Wimbledon with Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany, Ball Out with Stifler from American Pie and Woody Allen’s Match Point all failed to win at the box office. Poking fun at competitive tennis is the forthcoming HBO one-off 7 Days in Hell, Kit Harington (Game Of Thrones) and Andy Samberg (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) star as rival player who end up playing the world’s longest game of tennis.

The first full trailer for the one-hour special has arrived and it is jam-packed with laughs, cameos and perhaps the most bizarre mullet sported by Samberg. I have to admit to being previously immune to the comedy stylings of Andy Samberg, a few chuckles in Hot Rod aside I wouldn’t class myself as a fan. Then I binge watched Brooklyn Nine-Nine and quickly came around to his charms. Then, I went back a re-watched Hot Rod and I will go on record to say it’s one of the greatest modern SNL movies.

7 Days Of Hell takes the well-worn faux-documentary style with added aping of the ridiculously over produced sports new coverage. Harrington has dabbled with a little comedy in the past, a number of Game of Thrones themed spoofs has seen the usually brooding Jon Snow show his lighter side.

Featuring appearances from Karen Gillian, Will Forte, Fred Armisen, Mary Steenburgen, Johnny McEnroe, Serena Williams, Lena Dunham and Michael Sheen, 7 Days In Hell airs on HBO July 11.

A fictional documentary-style expose on the rivalry between two tennis stars who battled it out in a 2004 match that lasted seven days.
