The first season has yet to launch, but that hasn’t prevented Starz from picking up Ash vs. Evil Dead for a second season. Bruce Campbell is back in action as Ash Williams to take on the Evil Dead in the ultimate rematch.
Since we last saw him, the world has changed, and he has become something of a relic, but that’s not going to stop him from having a good time. Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik, revealed the news earlier today;
“One season isn’t enough to satisfy the fans’ two-decade-long appetite for more Ash. The early fan and press support, along with the international broadcaster demand for more story, have made it clear that the adventures of Ash Williams can’t end with Season 1.”
To be honest, I’m giddy with excitement over Ash vs. Evil Dead and news of a second season is nothing short of fantastic. We’ve been patiently waiting for over 20 years to see Ash again, and no that cameo in the remake doesn’t count. There is currently no word on if season two will be longer that the first season’s ten episodes, but that’s not important right now.
The first episode launches on Starz this Saturday in the US, sadly there is still no UK date, and we could be in for a considerable wait before we get the chance to see it. The last time something like this happened we had to wait more than six months for Agent Carter to find a UK home, surely there is a network out there willing to take Agent Williams?
For now you will just have to settle for watching another trailer.
