Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn are back for the sequel to last year’s R-rated comedy Bad Moms. As the title suggests, the Christmas backdrop for the follow-up offers all kinds of festively themed antics for this band of fed-up mothers.

The first movie was a surprise box office hit last year, made on a modest budget of $20 million; Bad Moms grossed more than $183 million worldwide with $113 million of that haul coming from North America. STX Entertainment garnered their first $100 million release and was quick to expand the franchise. In addition to A Bad Moms Christmas, a male-centric spin-off is in development under the highly imaginative title of Bad Dads. Bizarrely, the spin-off was announced several months before A Bad Moms Christmas, but the festive follow-up will be hitting cinemas before Bad Dads.

Also starring Jay Hernandez, Peter Gallagher, Justin Hartley, and David Walton, A Bad Moms Christmas brings Cheryl Hines, Christine Baranski, and Susan Sarandon along for the ride.

A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS follows our three under-appreciated and over-burdened women as they rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for moms: Christmas. And if creating a more perfect holiday for their families wasn’t hard enough, they have to do all of that while hosting and entertaining their own mothers. By the end of the journey, our moms will redefine how to make the holidays special for all and discover a closer relationship with their mothers.
