I think we can all agree that Batman v Superman wasn’t the superhero grudge match we had all hoped for, you could go further and say it was an incoherent, depressing, unwatchable movie that was devoid of fun. Despite its many faults, BVS grossed more than $871 million worldwide and even if it did fall short of Warner Bros’ expectations the global box office is nothing to sniff at. Before Dawn of Justice arrived in cinemas, director Zack Snyder revealed that an extended R-Rated version of the movie was going to be released on DVD & Blu-ray over the summer. The first trailer has arrived for the Ultimate Edition and it’s stuffed full of brand new footage.
The theatrical cut came in at two and a half hours, that might have been more than enough for some fans, but the Ultimate Edition contains more than 30 minutes of brand new footage. Wisely, Warner Bros aren’t releasing the theatrical cut separately on Blu-ray as it will be included in the Ultimate Edition.
Both the DVD and Blu-ray will feature the following special features;
Uniting the World’s Finest
Gods and Men: A Meeting of Giants
The Warrior, The Myth, The Wonder
Accelerating Design: The New Batmobile
Superman: Complexity & Truth
Batman: Austerity & Rage
Wonder Woman: Grace & Power
Batcave: Legacy of the Lair
The Might and the Power of a Punch
The Empire of Luthor
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition is released in the UK on August 1st, check out the trailer below.
