A brand new trailer for Bill & Ted Face The Music has landed with lots of new footage, and surprising new release date. After almost 30 years, Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves are back in their iconic roles as Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted Theodore Logan, and the clock is ticking on those most excellent of dudes to write the song that saves the universe.
I’m not saying that the fact Bill & Ted haven’t made the song that unites the known galaxy is the reason for the world falling apart, but it would make some sense. The original plan for the belated sequel was to hit cinemas on August 14, however, the ongoing pandemic is forcing studios to delay and rethink how they release their movies. While plenty of big tentpole titles like No Time To Die, Mulan, and Tenet, are happy to delay their theatrical window to when audiences can safely return, others are doing things differently. Bill & Ted Face The Music will be simultaneously released in selected US cinemas (that can safely reopen) and paid for VOD on September 1st. It remains unclear if the international release will be the same, as some countries cinemas are steadily reopening. We’ll keep you posted when we know more details on the UK release, until then, enjoy the new trailer.
The stakes are higher than ever for the time-travelling exploits of William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. and Theodore “Ted” Logan. Yet to fulfil their rock and roll destiny, the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it. Along the way, they will be helped by their daughters, a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends – to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe.
