DC’s Doom Patrol First Trailer

The first teaser for DC’s Titans spin-off Doom Patrol has landed, and this oddity much just pay off in spades. Giving off a bit of a Watchman vibe in the teaser, the Doom Patrol gather for a photo to mark the occasion of their formation.

The characters were introduced during the first season of Titans, and the response was so positive that producers wasted no time in spinning them off into their own series. The team is led by The Chef played by Timothy Dalton, which is enough to make me an immediate fan of this show. I’m a big Penny Dreadful fan, and next to Eva Green’s hypnotic performance, Dalton stole the show as adventurer and monster hunter Malcolm Murray. So, to see Dalton play a mad scientist leading a mismatched group of heroes is a very exciting prospect.

The cinematic arm of DC is finally turning a corner, but the TV universe has gone from strength to strength with Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Titans, and now Doom Patrol. In addition to the teaser, DC Tweeted a series of retro character posters. Titans arrives on Netflix in the New Year.

Also starring April Bowlby, Brendan Fraser and Matt Bomer, with Alan Tudyk as the main big bad Mr Nobody, Doom Patrol launches on the DC Universe platform on February 15, 2019, UK fans can catch the series on Netflix.

The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities — but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence — and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of TITANS, DOOM PATROL will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.
