Netflix Has A Scary Amount of Horror For Halloween

Netflix is spoiling horror fans this Halloween with an abundance of new offerings hitting the streaming service in the next two weeks. Giving new meaning to Netflix and Chill, a new promo showcasing some existing and forthcoming films and TV shows has been released. You can watch the seventy-second trailer above.

Not all those titles are great, last year’s horror/comedy Little Evil had the always hilarious Adam Scott, but failed to muster many laughs. If you’ve not seen Stephen King adaptations 1922, or Gerald’s Game, they are both well worth your time. We all know Stranger Things is freaking awesome.

Looking ahead to the new stuff, the ten-episode The Haunting of Hill House land this Friday (October 12), as does Gareth Evans’ Apostle which stars Dan Stevens and Michael Sheen. The highly-anticipated reboot of Sabrine The Teenage Witch shows endless promise after debuting its creepy first trailer. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina stars Kiernan Shipka, Jaz Sinclair, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto, Richard Coyle, and launches on October 26.

Another new addition just debuted the first-look trailer with the docu-drama Haunted. Based on ‘real encounters’ with the supernatural, Haunted mixes interviews with dramatic recreations of their experience. Unlike the more low-rent shows you’ll find on CBS Reality at two in the morning, Haunted has the production budget of a respectable movie with some horrific recreations. Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year, horror films are everywhere, and I love Netflix’s commitment to the spooky season. Sure, not all of their new offerings will be good, heck, a few might be unwatchable, but by Joss they’re giving it their all.

Haunted is released on October 19, check out the trailer below.
