Awesome Red Band Deadpool Trailer Arrives

“Please don’t make the super-suit green, or animated!”

Could Deadpool be the most awesome and violent mainstream superhero movie ever made?

For a superhero movie with a reported $40 million budget, there sure is a lot riding on Deadpool being a success. Arguably, it is a low risk venture for 20th Century Fox and given the ravenous anticipation from the fans it is hard to see Deadpool being a flop. The reason for the added pressure is that Deadpool is the first R-rated superhero Marvel movie of significance in this new golden age of comic book adaptations. We’re had three Blades, three tries at The Punisher yet in recent times only the only thing to change is what a PG-13 movie can get away with.

Ryan Reynolds finally gets his chance to redo the character after the abomination of X-Men Origins Wolverine. The first Red Band trailer doesn’t disappoint and it is filled with all the sass, hyper-violence and fourth wall breaking goodness you’ve been wanting. If you’re not in a position to watch the uncensored (less awesome) trailer, then you can sample the Green Band version instead.

Deadpool is out in the UK on February 5, 2016.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
