A safe haven for criminals in need of medical treatment may sound like a service The Continental from John Wick would offer, but if you’re on the wrong side of the law and need patching up, Hotel Artemis is the place for you.
A new Red Band trailer for the action thriller has landed introducing us to Jodie Foster, Sterling K. Brown, Sofia Boutella, Jeff Goldblum, Brian Tyree Henry, Jenny Slate, Zachary Quinto, Charlie Day, and Dave Bautista. Foster leads the cast as the head nurse of the hospital that insists on strict codes of conduct for all its guests. A combustible combination of characters causes the rules to be broken, and a good few bones as well.
Writer Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3, Marvel One-Shot All Hail The King) makes his feature directorial debut in what looks like it could be a lot of fun. On the slightly more negative side, comparisons to John Wick are inevitable, and this first trailer does feel like it’s an unofficial spin-off. Hotel Artemis is released in UK cinemas on July 20.
Set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles, Hotel Artemis stars Jodie Foster as The Nurse, who runs a secret, members-only hospital for criminals. The rest of the all-star cast that includes Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us) as Waikiki, Sofia Boutella (The Mummy) as Nice, Jeff Goldblum (Thor: Ragnarok) as The Wolf King/Niagara, Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) as Honolulu, Jenny Slate (Zootopia) as Morgan, Zachary Quinto (Star Trek) as Ilya, Charlie Day (Pacific Rim) as Acapulco, and Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Everest.
