The epic final trailer for Mockingjay Part 2 has arrived, the closing chapter in The Hunger Games franchise hits cinemas on November 19 and promises to deliver a satisfying conclusion to the series.

Rumours surfaced earlier this year that Lionsgate are developing a prequel trilogy, while chatter on that has gone quiet I think it’s fair to assume that the project is still under consideration. The mythology of The Hunger Games world does lend itself to be explored further, after all, there are 70 plus games to revisit before Katniss Everdeen volunteered for tribute. Before I get too caught up in the potential future, we have one heck of a finale to look forward to.

Also starring Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Willow Shields, Natalie Dormer, Robert Knepper and in his final screen role, the majestic (and deeply missed) Philip Seymour Hoffman.

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her.  The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
