Full Westworld Trailer

westworldHBO’s Westworld has taken its sweet time getting made, but proving that all good things come to those who wait, the first full trailer has arrived. Earlier this year, the future of the ambitious project was left in doubt when production was halted for a couple of months to give the writers more time to figure out the last few episodes.

Naturally, the internet being a reasonable and rational sort of folk who completely didn’t monger ALL the doom. I’m kidding, some outlets were now labelling Westworld a “troubled series”, others even went as far to claim that it would never be broadcast. Once all the chatter calmed down, co-showrunner Jonathan Nolan revealed what caused he temporary hiatus.

“We came out of the gate very, very quickly, because we wanted to get on the air as early as possible, and so we started shooting with only a handful of episodes in hand. Nothing that I have done prepared me for the sheer avalanche [of production requirements]. The truth is, what we’re doing there is a 10-hour movie. It’s not really a TV series. When they say ‘It’s not TV, it’s HBO,’ they’re really not kidding.”

Starring Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ben Barnes, Simon Quarterman, Angela Sarafyan, Luke Hemsworth and Clifton Collins, Jr. Westworld arrives on HBO later this year, in the meantime we have this elegant trailer to enjoy.
