Emily Blunt stars as a troubled woman in the first trailer for mystery thriller, The Girl on the Train.
Blunt plays Rachel Watson, a recently divorced woman who has started to obsess over her former neighbours Megan and Scott Hipwell (Haley Bennett and Luke Evans) as a way of breaking her unhealthy behaviour towards her ex-husband and his new family. However, on one ordinary day on her usual commute, Rachel sees something that causes her to fly into a fit of rage and she wakes up the next morning with no memory of what she has done. The situation intensifies when Megan is reported missing on the very night Rachel has no recollection of what happened.
From The Help director Tate Taylor, the first trailer for The Girl on the Train is now available and it could very well be this year’s Gone Girl. Based on the bestselling book by Paula Hawkins, the movie adaptation also stars Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans, Édgar Ramírez, Allison Janney and Laura Prepon. The Girl on the Train is released in UK cinemas on October 7.
