Jerry Seinfeld is bringing the tenth season of his award-winning Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee to Netflix. According to Deadline, Seinfeld has struck a deal with the streaming giant to produce new episodes of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, multiple stand-up specials, and a new scripted series.

Back in 2012, Jerry Seinfeld launched Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee on Crackle and the talk show was an instant hit with audiences. The ninth season just launched two weeks ago for its final six-episode season on Crackle.

Speaking to the press, Seinfeld commented on why he believes now is the perfect time to join the Netflix family.

“When I first started thinking about Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, the entire Netflix business model consisted of mailing out DVDs in envelopes. I love that we are now joining together, both at very different points. I am also very excited to be working with Ted Sarandos at Netflix, a guy and a place that not only have the same enthusiasm for the art of stand up comedy as I do, but the most amazing technology platform to deliver it in a way that has never existed before. I am really quite charged up to be moving there.”

As an avid fan of Seinfeld’s work I’m excited to see him in anything he’s passionate about, given his massive net worth, he can afford to be picky. While I’m looking forward to 24 new episodes of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, I’m far more enthusiastic to see a brand new Seinfeld stand-up or two, and a new scripted series from Jerry is exactly what the world needs right now.

New episodes of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee are available on Crackle (or the official website), season ten is expected to debut later this year and seasons one to nine will be added to Netflix sometime in the Spring.
