A brand new trailer for Netflix’s The Punisher has landed, and Frank Castle is preparing for all-out war against the criminal underworld. After an impressive introduction in the second season of Daredevil, Netflix wasted no time in giving Jon Berthnal’s brooding incarnation of the character a TV series all to himself.
The Marvel Netflix offerings this year haven’t been up to the same standard as previous years. Daredevil and Jessica Jones made spectacular debuts, and Luke Cage’s slow burn approach might have tested audiences patience, but still managed to deliver a rousing final run of episodes. However, earlier this year we met the final Defender with Iron Fist, and boy did that suck. Full disclosure, I’ve still not finished Iron Fist, and chances are I never will as, to put it bluntly it was really quite boring. Hopefully, that won’t be the case with the already confirmed season two as a new showrunner is taking over.
Let’s be honest; The Defenders wasn’t the small screen answer to The Avengers that fans had hoped for, a slow pace and too much time given to Iron Fist led to a mixed reaction from audiences. In fact, Netflix revealed that The Defenders was the least viewed of all of their Marvel shows, but in typical Netflix form, no actual numbers were disclosed.
Also starring Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Daniel Webber, Shohreh Aghdashloo with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Deborah Ann Woll back as Karen Page. There is still no fixed release date for The Punisher, but rumour has it that the series will drop sometime in November.
Check out the brand new synopsis;
