When Kenneth Branagh signed on to direct a lavish new production of Murder on the Orient Express, the acclaimed filmmaker launched a global search to find his Hercule Poirot. With Albert Finney and David Suchet’s performances as the character looming large, Kenny B knew he had to find somebody special to portray this iconic role.

After countless auditions bore no fruits, Kenneth Branagh appointed a special task force to locate an actor with the range required. Then as if by magic, a promising young actor named Kenneth Branagh was plucked from obscurity and cast in the lead role. I predict big things for this Branagh chap; I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that he has the same name and bears an uncanny resemblance to….wait a moment, Branagh just cast himself. My bad.

A brand new clip of Murder on the Orient Express has arrived featuring Johnny Depp being all kinds of suspicious. Joining Branagh and Depp for the period set mystery shenanigans are Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer and Daisy Ridley.

Murder on the Orient Express will be ready for boarding on November 3.
