New Fast & Furious 8 Trailer

After shifting gears to a gravity defying insane action franchise, the Fast and Furious movies have stopped trying to make sense and are squarely focusing on the relentless (and impossible) action set pieces.

The first trailer for The Fate of the Furious (or Fast & Furious 8 for us Brits) revealed that Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) is out to cause trouble for his extended family. Lured back to his life of crime by the mysterious Cipher (Charlize Theron), Dom is forced to turn his back on his closest friends, which causes them to turn to a former enemy to help bring Dom in.

Naturally, we’re willing to bet that old gravel-voiced charmer Dom has a ruddy good reason for what he’s doing, but for now just enjoy the sheer madness of the latest (overlong) trailer.

Starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kurt Russell, Scott Eastwood, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren. Fast and Furious 8 spins into cinemas on April 14.

Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family.
