After over a year of waiting, we were finally given a fresh look at Matt Reeves’ The Batman thanks to the DC Fandom Event. Starring Robert Pattinson as the Billionaire Bruce Wayne and his crime-fighting alter ego, The Batman. The first teaser gave us a hard-edged taste of what to expect, and this new promo doubles down on that and gives us plenty of fresh footage to jam into our eye-brains.
From the Se7en alike grim depiction of a city being consumed by crime and evil, Gotham City has never looked quite like this before. Which is kind of a good way to cut through to DC fans about another new take on Batman; we’ve seen plenty of Batman movies from Adam West’s beloved original to Christopher Nolan’s more ground trilogy. We’ve seen Batman on the big screen, but not like this, and I’m here for it 100%.
Robert Pattinson won’t be the only Batman on the big screen next year with two versions of Batman past featuring in The Flash. Adapting parts of the Flashpoint story, both Ben Affleck and Michael Flipping Keaton will be reprising their respective Batman (Batmen?). Check out the trailers below.
The Batman is released on March 4, 2022, and The Flash arrives later in the year on November 4.
