Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson star in the first trailer for action comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard.
It feels like it has been a while since we have had a good buddy action comedy. Last year’s The Nice Guys was a standout with its mismatched duo, and although The Hitman’s Bodyguard may lack the Shane Black approved dialogue, it does look like a whole heap of fun.
Reynolds stars as a renowned bodyguard who is tasked with protecting Jackson’s world class assassin. Naturally, the two men don’t get on, but they’ll need to refrain from killing each other long enough to take down a vicious crime lord. Nobody says motherfucker like Samuel L. Jackson, and if you’re a fan of hearing SLJ saying motherfucker, then you’re in for a treat.
Directed by Patrick Hughes (Expendables 3) and also starring Gary Oldman, Élodie Yung, Joaquim de Almeida, and Salma Hayek, The Hitman’s Bodyguard is released in the UK this summer. Check out the trailer below.
The world’s top protection agent (Ryan Reynolds) is called upon to guard the life of his mortal enemy, one of the world’s most notorious hitmen (Samuel L. Jackson). The relentless bodyguard and manipulative assassin have been on the opposite end of the bullet for years and are thrown together for a wildly outrageous 24 hours. During their raucous and hilarious adventure from England to the Hague, they encounter high-speed car chases, outlandish boat escapades and a merciless Eastern European dictator (Gary Oldman) who is out for blood. Salma Hayek joins the mayhem as Jackson’s equally notorious wife.
