Murder Party and Blue Ruin director Jeremy Saulnier takes us on another tense and thrilling journey with his latest movie Green Room. Against their better judgment, struggling punk rock band The Ain’t Rights accept the offer for a last minute gig. All seems to be going fine until the band stumble upon a crime scene and wind up in a whole heap of trouble.
Pursuing the fun loving criminals is a violent gang led by Darcy Banker played with an abundance of terror by Patrick Stewart. We all know that Sir Patrick Stewart is a tremendous talent, but it has been quite some time since he last played an outright bad guy. You’d have to go back to 1998’s Dad Savage to find a performance from Stewart that will chill the blood and quicken the pulse. Blue Ruin was a powerful piece of work and regrettably slipped under most people’s radar, if you like revenge movies then I would urge you to seek it out.
Also starring Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots and Joe Cole, Green Room will arrive in UK cinemas on Friday May 13. Check out the trailer below.
Down-on-their-luck punk rockers The Ain’t Rights agree to a last-minute gig in a backwards Oregon roadhouse. The gig soon takes a sinister turn as the band members stumble upon a grisly murder scene and find themselves targeted by a ruthless club owner and his associates, determined to eliminate all witnesses.
From the internationally acclaimed filmmaker Jeremy Saulnier (BLUE RUIN), GREEN ROOM is a nerve shredding thrill-ride with a thick vein of dark humour, featuring a gripping ensemble performance from Patrick Stewart, Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, Alia Shawkat, Joe Cole, Macon Blair and Callum Turner.
