It has only been a year since Netflix dropped the first season of Stranger Things and inspired thousands of Halloween costumes. In addition to the cosplay, Stranger Things seriously triggered our nostalgia for the 80s and was one of the best new shows of last year.
The eagerly awaited second season is still a couple of months away, but the first full trailer was screened at Comic-Con, and now it’s available for the world to see.
Series creators The Duffer Brothers have promised fans a scarier ride with the second season, and the first trailer confirms that there are dark times ahead for our band of adolescent heroes.
Here’s the official synopsis;
It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demagorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.
Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazz, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Cara Buono, and Chelsea Talmadge all reprise their respective roles from the first season. Stranger Things newcomers include Sadie Sink, Dacre Montgomery, Linnea Berthelsen, Sean Astin, Paul Reiser, Brett Gelman and Will Chase.
The Duffer Brothers direct the first two and final two episodes of what promises to be the TV event of Halloween. All nine episodes of Stranger Things 2 will be available on Netflix from October 27.
