As the summer gives way to colder times, it seems like ages ago that we returned to Hawkins for a summer of Stranger Things. The third season of Netflix’s hit series landed over the summer, and Stranger Things returned after 18 months for another batch of adventures and heartbreak.
I won’t spoil anything for those of you that have yet to watch the show, but season 3 ended on a game-changer with the future of beloved characters remaining uncertain. Well, the good news is that Stranger Things will return for a fourth season, and there’s a short teaser to prove it exists. A quick word of caution, before you watch the teaser, there is no footage as season four hasn’t secretly started production (unless it has?). We get the familiar music and an ominous warning that “we’re not in Hawkins anymore,” say what?! Fans will know that the season 3 finale saw the band of friends on very different paths, but we can be sure that they will be reuniting in some capacity. There is no word yet on when Stranger Things 4 will be arriving on Netflix, traditionally there has always been a gap of more than a year between seasons. So expect new episodes Halloween 2020, maybe.
Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers recently signed an overall deal with Netflix to develop films and TV shows, here’s what the duo had to say;
“We are absolutely thrilled to continue our relationship with Netflix. Ted Sarandos, Cindy Holland, Brian Wright, and Matt Thunell took a huge chance on us and our show – and forever changed our lives,” The Duffer Brothers said. “From our first pitch meeting to the release of Stranger Things 3, the entire team at Netflix has been nothing short of sensational, providing us with the kind of support, guidance, and creative freedom we always dreamed about. We can’t wait to tell many more stories together – beginning, of course, with a return trip to Hawkins!”
