New Trailer For The Punisher

Netflix has released the second full trailer for their forthcoming Marvel series The Punisher, and it also comes with the official launch date for the highly-anticipated series.

Having made an impressive debut in the second season of Daredevil, Jon Bernthal returns as Frank Castle (aka The Punisher) for a series all to himself. Netflix made the wise decision to delay the release of the series after the tragic events in Las Vegas. The new trailer shows off plenty of new footage, and there are a few shots of Deborah Ann Woll reprising her Daredevil role as Karen Page.

We last saw Karen Page in The Defenders, which having watched twice can confidently say was hugely disappointing. We all knew we weren’t getting The Avengers, but for an event series, The Defenders wasted half its eight episodes mulling around with not a whole lot going on for anybody. I freely admit to giving up on Iron Fist, I will check out the second season as the changes to the creative team may yield a better TV show. That said, Danny Bland wasn’t a character I could invest in, and the painfully slow narrative wore me down. We’re going to be seeing a lot more of Iron Fist as he’ll feature heavily in the second season of Luke Cage. I guess Netflix are determined to make us like Danny Rand. Good luck!

Also starring Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, and Daniel Webber, all episodes of The Punisher will be available on November 17.

Here’s the official synopsis;

After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.
