New Trailer For Andy Serkis’ Mowgli

A brand new trailer for Andy Serkis’ take on The Jungle Book has landed. Taking a darker look at Rudyard Kipling’s beloved creation than Disney, Mowgli features a wealth of famous faces lending their voices (and motion performance) to bring a more faithful adaptation of the book to life.

Serkis has been working on this for more than five years, and it has been a difficult journey to realise his vision. Earlier this year, Warner Bros struck a deal with Netflix to take the movie off its hands, and what was intended as a 3D cinematic experience was going to be available to watch on your phone via Netflix. I felt the same upset when Alex Garland’s Annihilation didn’t see the inside of a cinema in the UK; I had to settle for my reasonably sized TV screen at home.

Thankfully, Netflix has learned their lessons and are making serious strides in getting more of the film projects shown in cinemas. Mowgli will be getting a limited theatrical release ahead of its global launch on Netflix.

Featuring the voices of Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Naomie Harris, Benedict Cumberbatch, Peter Mullan, Jack Reynor, Eddie Marsan, Tom Hollander, and Andy Serkis as Baloo. Mowgli: The Legend of the Jungle arrives on Netflix on December 7.

Acclaimed actor and director Andy Serkis reinvents Rudyard Kipling’s beloved masterpiece, in which a boy torn between two worlds accepts his destiny and becomes a legend. Mowgli (Rohan Chand) has never truly belonged in either the wilds of the jungle or the civilized world of man. Now he must navigate the inherent dangers of each on a journey to discover where he truly belongs. Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Andy Serkis, Freida Pinto, Matthew Rhys and Naomie Harris lead an all-star cast along with newcomer Rohan Chand in this visually spectacular and emotionally moving adventure.
