Terrifier 2 Sets Home Entertainment Release Date

Six years after the release of the now cult favourite Terrifier, the sequel is finally almost here, with writer/director Damien Leone serving up an epic horror sequel. After being resurrected by a sinister entity, demented Art the Clown returns to the timid town of Miles County where he targets a bereaved family, especially teenage Sienna and her younger brother Jonathan. And it’s Halloween night too so pray you don’t get in deranged Art’s way!

David Howard Thornton (Terrifier) is back as Art the Clown, alongside Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) and Griffin Santopietro (Cobra Kai). Terrifier 2 is written & directed by Damien Leone (Terrifier) who also designs and creates all the special effects.

Terrifier 2 promises to be a bigger, bolder sequel with a running time not usually associated with horror, aside from both chapters of IT, so maybe it’s just sequels to murderous demonic clowns that are allowed to break the mould. In a recent interview with SlashFilm, writer/director Damien Leone revealled that the epic 138-minute running time was needed to tell the story.

“It was totally organic. It was just the story that I wrote and I didn’t realize how long it was going to be until I got in the editing room. I said, ‘Oh boy, this is sort of unprecedented.’ But again, it was my story that I loved; everything I wanted to do with these characters and having them more fleshed out and tell this more traditional narrative. Plus, we had these really sort of unorthodox sequences in the movie that kind of set it apart from other traditional slashers.

But there were scenes that I didn’t even bother editing that we shot, because I knew they weren’t going to drive the narrative or anything. There’s tons of amazing movies that are well over two hours. And if a movie’s good and it’s not just loaded with filler, it’ll fly by. And we’ve gotten that, people have told us that the movie flies by, they don’t feel like it’s that long at all. I’m proud of it. We break a lot of rules anyway, so might as well have a slasher that’s an unprecedented run time.”

Signature Entertainment presents Terrifier 2 on Digital Platforms, DVD and Blu-ray alongside Terrifier 1 & 2 Blu-ray box-set 24th October
