28 Years Later Trailer

Trailers

After a series of fake trailers managed to convince some fans, the first official trailer for Danny Boyle’s highly-anticipated 28 Years Later has landed. In the first chapter of a new trilogy (that has reportedly already completed the second film), we return to a world ravaged by the Rage virus. Much like the poster that curiously had Cillian Murphy’s name not on it (aside from his Executive Producer credit), and the first teaser is just as absent of Murphy’s presence, or is it?

Some eagle-eyed fans spotted what looks like a Rage-infected Murphy as Jim in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment. I honestly hope this is the only trailer they release, as it’s the perfect mixture of intrigue without giving away much of the plot.

Starring Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, and likely a cameo from Cillian Murphy, 28 Years Later will be released in cinemas on June 20. Meanwhile, 28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple (directed by  Nia DaCosta) was shot back-to-back with the first one, and is reportedly considering a late 2025 release.

“It’s been almost three decades since the Rage Virus escaped a medical research laboratory, and in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.
