The second trailer for the final Thor solo movie has arrived, and by Odin’s beard, it looks good. Ragnarok comes to us from What We Do in The Shadows and Hunt For The Wilderpeople’s Taika Waititi. We were expecting a lighter tone and a space buddy movie, but this latest trailer has some laugh out loud moments and a talking Hulk.

Mark Ruffalo makes his first appearance as Bruce Banner/Hulk since 2015’s Age of Ultron. Ruffalo revealed that Hulk hasn’t changed back to Banner in two years as “Hulk refuses to turn back into Banner and he’s enjoying his time on Sakaar as a gladiator champion.” In that time, Hulk has learned how to speak (albeit like a child), and he’s in no rush to be Banner again. Don’t panic though, Ruffalo’s Banner will reemerge, and he has some great scenes with Thor.

Thor has a lot to contend with in Ragnorak, he’s lost his hammer in a battle with Cate Blanchett’s Goddess of Death, Hela. He’s been forced to cut his famous locks and is slugging it out in The Grandmaster’s (Jeff Goldblum) gladiator ring. Once his old friend Hulk arrives, Thor sets in motion a plan to put a team together and claim Asgard back from Hela’s evil clutches. Thankfully, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is on hand to help clean up the mess he created.

I wasn’t a huge fan of The Dark World; it was a so-so sequel that had some good moments, but it was mostly forgettable. As soon as I found out Waititi was directing the trilogy closer, I was convinced the Marvel machine would squash his unique talent. Based on the first two trailers, Waititi’s quirky comedy style is all over Ragnarok, and it is giving off a serious Midnight Run vibe with Thor and Hulk’s banter.

Also starring Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Sam Neil, Anthony Hopkins, and a cameo from Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Ragnarok is released in the UK on October 25.
