If you’ve started to grow tired of The Walking Dead or have yet to discover that its spin-off (Fear The Walking Dead) is actually a better TV show, AMC has a brand new series for horror fans. Based on Dan Simmons; book, The Terror charts the real-life lost expedition of Captain Sir John Franklin and his crew but adds a chilling supernatural twist. A brand new featurette has been released online that takes us behind the scenes of the eagerly awaited series.
Set in 1845, Captain Sir John Franklin (Ciarán Hinds) commands to ships (HMS Erebus and HMS Terror) charting a course from England to the Arctic with the ultimate goal of an expedition through the infamous Northwest Passage. The ill-fated mission runs into trouble while manoeuvring through the unforgiving waters but events take a desperate turn when both ships become trapped in ice. But this is just the beginning of the horrors that await the survivors, as a malevolent force stalks them in the shadows.
Created by David Kajganich, The Terror is executive produced by Ridley Scott and stars Jared Harris, Ciarán Hinds, Tobias Menzies, Paul Ready, Adam Nagaitis, Matthew McNulty, Liam Garrigan, Ronan Raftery and Nive Nielsen. There are no confirmed details of when The Terror arrives in the UK, but the series launches on AMC March 26.
