All that glitters is not gold in Diamond Sky — a haunting new British psychological thriller where love may be written in the stars, but it comes at a deadly cost.

Marking the feature directorial debut of Felix Mackenzie, this dark, hypnotic film fuses the tension of a heist movie with the heartbreak of a fractured love story — one that spirals into obsession and delusion. Diamond Sky makes its UK digital debut on October 27, 2025, courtesy of Reel2Reel Films.

TV favourite Amanda Abbington (Sherlock, Mr Selfridge, The Lost King) stars as the pragmatic mother of Alice (Elena Rivers – Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, F1), a young romantic yearning for her storybook ending. When she falls for Lucan (Hassan Najib – Blade Runner 2099, Dune: Part Two), a charming dreamer from a tougher world, she sees potential where others see peril — riches in his rags and destiny in his gaze.

At first, their whirlwind romance glows with promise: a fairytale future built on passion and possibility. But as real-world pressures close in, cracks begin to form, and their relationship collapses under the weight of financial struggle and unmet dreams.

Heartbreak soon curdles into obsession as Lucan’s grief fractures his mind. In his twisted fantasy, he and Alice are reborn as glamorous jewel thieves — glittering partners in crime stealing their way toward a life that reality refused them. But when fantasy becomes more seductive than truth, nothing — and no one — is safe.

Both a love story and a psychological descent, Diamond Sky is a strikingly original debut from a filmmaker to watch. Equal parts heist thriller and haunting character study, it explores the perilous shimmer of desire — and the dangerous illusion of chasing a dream too bright to survive the light.
