After a back to back horror movie feast over the weekend, I’m on a horror come down. There was a shortage of news over the weekend, and after last weeks shock announcement about Joss Whdon’s Much Ado About Nothing, surely no news could lift my spirits (get it).

I was wrong, boy oh boy was I wrong. As just a couple of hours ago Joss Whedon had more news to announce. Nope not a new Avengers trailer, nothing to do with Much Ado and Cabin in The Woods has not been put back again.

The new project will be produced through Whedon’s new micro-studio Bellwether Pictures which he set up with Kai Cole. the supernatural romance called In Your Eyes is written by Whedon and he will also serve as executive producer for the forthcoming film. In a statement about the film Whedon said this about the second unexpected film from the studio; “When I wrote In Your Eyes, I didn’t have the wherewithal (or the moxie) to make it without an established production house,” he went on to comment I believe, as I did then, that it’s a pretty timeless romance, and now, with the creation of Bellwether Pictures (and Brin Hill’s elegant, passionate take on the piece), I have the opportunity to prove it. (I also have a 37% increase in moxie). I love this team and I can’t wait to see them bring In Your Eyes to life.”

No casting choices have been made yet but expect to see some of Joss’s famous friends making appearances. Filming is starting in February next year and directing duties are in Brin Hill’s hands. so expect casting news soon. Now Whedon has his own micro studio, he can make the projects he wants to free from studio tampering. It does reduce the size of the projects he can work on but with mega hit The Avengers due in a few months, Joss will finally be seen as the visionary he is and a bankable director. Personally speaking, the more new Joss projects the better. As soon as there’s any news we’ll let you know, as soon as we finish doing Numfars dance of joy.
