Great news for fans of Netflix’s brilliant coming of age animated comedy Big Mouth, there is a brand new episode landing very soon. The Valentine’s Day Special (My Furry Valentine) will be available worldwide on February 8th. Created by Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett, Big Mouth hilariously charts the many pitfalls of puberty. The painfully funny (and sharply written) series should be mandatory viewing for everybody old enough to watch it, we all need a hormone monster in our lives.
The voice cast which includes Nick Kroll, Maya Rudolph, Jordan Peele, Jessi Klein, Jason Mantzoukas, and John Mulaney are all fantastic. However, the addition of David Thewlis as the Shame Wizard in the second season stole the show for me, give the Shame Wizard a spin-off right now, please. Late last year Netflix renewed Big Mouth for a third season of ten episodes, but there was no mention of a special. That’s what I love about Netflix, a special episode of a show you love can be sneakily made, and you only have to wait a week.
Big Mouth joins a growing roster of Netflix originals that have branched out to offer season specials. Bojack Horseman blazed the trailer with a Christmas special, and more have followed suit including The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and Neo Yokio. The third season is expected to launch later this year, but this Valentine’s themed special should quell our cravings, for now.
Big Mouth: My Furry Valentine” premieres February 8 on Netflix.
