Everybody’s favourite misanthropic half-man-half-horse will be back next year for another batch of 12 episodes as BoJack Horseman will return for a fourth season.
Season three followed BoJack on an upward swing following his ‘performance’ in Secretariat and saw him chasing his ultimate dream of winning an Academy Award. Naturally, the self-loathing BoJack doesn’t know when he’s got a good thing and does his utmost to torpedo his success at every opportunity. I’m still working my way through the current season as I became slightly obsessed with Stranger Things, but I hear that season three leaves BoJack and Co on something of a cliffhanger.
BoJack Horseman might not have the same huge following as other Netflix Originals, but it’s easily one of its best, and the mixture of darkness with likable characters isn’t often so successful in its execution.
While we’re on the subject of Netflix’s renewals, Pam Brady and Mitch Hurwitz’s criminally underrated Lady Dynamite starring Maria Bamford will be back for a second season. Will Arnett’s (who voices BoJack and produces) pet project Flaked is also returning, and unfortunately Chelsea Handler’s self-titled talk show has a pick-up for 89 new half-hour episodes! There’s no news yet on the second season of Stranger Things, the creators (The Duffer Brothers) have tentatively started working on ideas, but Netflix has yet to officially re-up the 80s themed sci-fi drama.
Featuring the voices of Will Arnett, Aaron Paul, Amy Sedaris, Alison Brie and Paul F. Tompkins, you can watch all three season (plus a Christmas special) on Netflix right now.
