After a teaser that didn’t reveal much of anything, the first full trailer for The Tomorrow War has arrived. The Chris Pratt led movie was initially set for a theatrical release, but the pandemic delayed the film by so much that Paramount opted to sell it to Amazon in the same way they did with Coming 2 America and Without Remorse.

The first trailer gives us a better look at the set pieces and a glimpse at the rest of the cast. Here’s the official synopsis;

In The Tomorrow War, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.

Directed by Chris McKay (The LEGO Batman Movie), The Tomorrow War was developed to be the first part of a franchise, so if it’s a hit, we can expect news of a sequel shortly after. Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, and Keith Powers, The Tomorrow War is released on Amazon on July 2, check out the trailer below.
