Dexter Revival Teaser Trailer

Like many of the fans that stayed with Dexter for its eight-season run, it was a bumpy ride, and as far as sticking the landing for its finale, it did not. We can all agree that the first four seasons were solid, especially the fourth run that reminded us that John Lithgow could be very, very scary. However, with the exit of showrunner Clyde Phillips and an increasingly ridiculous plot with each passing season, Dexter was on a downward spiral of quality.

Cut to a few months ago, and news of a one-time Dexter revival with a ten-episode limited series arrived, and it was a surprise, to say the least. As we live in an age of reboots, do-overs, shameless cash grabs, it was finally time for Dexter to come back for a second try at an ending. Clyde Phillips is back as showrunner, which is good news, and perhaps we will get the conclusion that at the very least won’t leave us angry.

To prove that the Dexter revival wasn’t a cheese-induced fever dream, a trailer has arrived, which you can watch below.

Joining Michael C. Hall in the new final season is Julia Jones (The Mandalorian), Alano Miller (Sylvie’s Love), Johnny Sequoyah (Believe), Jamie Chung (Lovecraft Country), Oscar Wahlberg (NOS4A2), and Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird), and Michael Cyril Creighton. For added incentive to watch, the new big bad for Dexter to contend with will be played by Clancy Brown.

Dexter will return to Showtime later this year.
