Emily Blunt stars alongside Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro for Sicario, directed by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners) the first trailer has now made it online. Following an impressive performance in Edge of Tomorrow (so underrated it’s not even funny), Blunt is dipping back into action territory only this time there’s no live, die, repeating to be found.
Emily Blunt plays tough FBI Agent Kate Macer, assigned to work the unforgivingly brutal border of America and Mexico her idealistic nature is tested as is everything she believed in. There’s already talk of a sequel that will shift the focus to Benicio Del Toro’s character, naturally that depends on how Sicario performs at the box office.
Also starring Victor Garber (Argo) and Jon Bernthal, who was recently announced as The Punisher in the second season of Daredevil. Sicario is due for release in the UK on November 25.
In Mexico, SICARIO means hitman. In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent [Emily Blunt] is enlisted by an elite government task force official [Josh Brolin] to aid in the escalating war against drugs. Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past [Benicio Del Toro], the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive. A Lionsgate presentation, a Black Label Media presentation, a Thunder Road production, a Denis Villeneuve film.
