As Hollywood readies itself for the big show with the 2024 Academy Awards, it’s time to celebrate the very worst of cinema (and VOD) with the 2024 Razzie Nominations. In a year that saw Barbenheimer jump-start the box office, two strikes ground the industry to a halt, and Marvel and DC titles crashed at the box office, leaving lingering questions over the future of the MCU. Hollywood still managed to churn out some of the most unapologetically bad movies with an alarming frequency.
Oscar winners Dame Helen Mirren, Russell Crowe, and Jon Voight are making a list this year, Crowe for his hilarious and quotable role as The Pope’s Exorcist in, er… The Pope’s Exorcistm, a shockingly enjoyable movie if viewed as a comedy.
