Ginger Snaps is a landmark in feminist horror. If you know, you know. If you don’t, congratulations, you’re in for a blood soaked treat.

John Fawcett’s cult classic is finally getting the Blu-ray treatment it deserves, as The Ginger Snaps Trilogy Standard Edition Blu-ray arrives on 25 May 2026 from Second Sight Films. All three films, collected at last, and looking better than a werewolf has any right to.

The original sets the tone perfectly. In the unremarkable suburban sprawl of Bailey Downs, Canada, outcast sisters Brigitte (Emily PerkinsSupernatural) and Ginger (Katharine IsabelleFreddy v Jason) are death-obsessed teens in the very specific way that only a 2000 Canadian horror film fully understands. On the night of Ginger’s first period, she’s attacked by a creature in the woods. Her wounds heal. Fast. And then things get considerably more complicated. It’s body horror, it’s a coming-of-age film, and it’s a sharper piece of feminist filmmaking than most things with a bigger budget and fewer practical effects. The werewolf-as-puberty metaphor lands exactly as hard as it should.

Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed, directed by Brett Sullivan, picks up with Brigitte fighting her own transformation from inside a rehab facility, a location that makes identifying friend from foe a matter of genuine survival. Tatiana Maslany(Orphan BlackShe-Hulk: Attorney at Law) and Eric Johnson (Smallville) also star, which tells you everything you need to know about the calibre on offer.

Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning, directed by Grant Harvey, rounds out the trilogy by transplanting the Fitzgerald ancestors to 19th century Canada, where werewolves and hostile villagers are equally unpleasant and equally unavoidable. The lycanthropic life beckons. Resistance is, as ever, complicated.

Three films. One box. The Ginger Snaps Trilogy Standard Edition Blu-ray is available from Second Sight Films on 25 May 2026.
