Godzilla Minus One Smashes Onto Physical Formats Later This Year.

I love that we live in a world with more than one Godzilla franchise that’s free from competing with one another. The excessive (yet fun) Hollywood version pits titans against each other, or in this year’s Godzilla X Kong The New Empire, fighting side by side, eventually. However, last year saw the release of the latest in Toho classic series, Godzilla Minus One, and a kaiju-sized global phenomenon was born.  

GODZILLA MINUS ONE will be released in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France as a 4K Collector’s Edition, 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD in time for the holiday season. I know what I’ll be asking from Santa this year!

Following incredible demand from audiences and cinemas alike, Anime Limited and Toho Co. Ltd. are also delighted to confirm that GODZILLA MINUS ONE is returning to cinemas in the UK & Ireland later this year alongside the highly requested GODZILLA MINUS ONE/MINUS COLOR, allowing fans to experience this black-and-white alternate version of the film in cinemas for the very first time.

Crafted to be the most terrifying incarnation of the character yet, returning the franchise to its post-war roots with a powerful and poignant story about a Japan gripped by the helplessness of having already lost everything before this new, monstrous threat emerges.

The film earned critical acclaim and broke multiple UK & Irish box office records on release, including the largest opening day for a Japanese film (live-action and animated) in over 23 years. The film became a sensation across the world, culminating in GODZILLA MINUS ONE winning Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards, becoming the first non-English language film to win the award.

GODZILLA MINUS ONE will be released on 4K UHD Collector’s Edition, 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD later this year.
