The first trailer has landed for the highly-anticipated second season of Good Omens. After their apocalypse-avoiding antics, Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and Crowley (David Tennant) are back, but their time living amongst humans in harmony is short-lived when the archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) turns up unexpectedly at the door of Aziraphale’s bookshop.
However, he’s not there to argue, in fact, he’s not sure why he’s there as Gabriel has no memory at all. Now, the unlikely best chums must solve the mystery and prevent a war between heaven and hell. It has been four years, one pandemic, and a lot of uncertainty since we last visited Good Omens, so its return couldn’t be coming at a more needed time. We can all agree that Sheen and Tennant are unyieldingly watchable together; their pandemic Zoom comedy series Staged proved that there is no format that these two titans can’t master. I could watch them bicker, chat, and steadily descend into petty arguments all day. .
2023 is quite the year for Tennant; in addition to reprising his role from Good Omens, he’ll be back in sand shoes and a long coat later this year for three special episodes of Doctor Who to celebrate the show’s 60th anniversary.
Good Omens Season 2 will be available on Amazon Prime from July 28; check out the trailer below.
