We're making a few changes...sorry for the inconvience.

Daddy's Home

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg reunite after The Other Guys for new comedy offering Daddy’s Home.

Ferrell stars as Brad, a dull albeit reliable type of fella who goes to war for the affection of  his step kids when their biological father (Wahlberg) shows up. That’s about it plot wise, but Ferrell has built a career on thinly plotted comedies with mixed results. Horrible Bosses 2 directors (yep, two full-time directors to make that) Sean Anders and John Morris are calling the shots.

The Other Guys was a lot of fun, and a big part of that was the chemistry between the two mismatched leads. Daddy’s Home finds them at odds with each other, we’re willing to bet they unite and become friends to overcome a common goal.

As much as I enjoyed seeing the News Team reassemble, Anchorman 2 was an overlong revival and Get Hard was deeply unfunny. It has been a while since Ferrell has made a great comedy, so can Daddy’s Home recapture the chemistry of The Other Guys? Based on the evidence in this first trailer, the answer is undoubtably a firm maybe.

Daddy’s Home is released in the US on Christmas Day and on Boxing Day here in the UK, check out the trailer below.

When a divorced guy’s ex-wife re-marries someone way more uptight, he re-enters her life and wreaks havoc. Stepfather, Brad Whitaker is hoping for his stepchildren to love him and treat him like a dad. All is going well until the biological father, Dusty Mayron shows up, then everything takes a toll. His stepchildren start putting him second and their father first, and now Dusty will have to learn what being a good dad is about and pains and struggles. Brad will also experience once again what it’s like to be a stepdad.
