Fresh from working with Guy Richie’s former producer Matthew Vaughn in Argylle, Henry Cavill reunites with Richie after The Man From UNCLE for a war-time action romp, The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
Cavill is in full tongue-out, wild-eyed, unhinged form, leading a ragtag group of misfits on a daring mission that will change the course of WW2. Based upon recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events, THE MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE is an action-comedy that tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials including author Ian Fleming. The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly “ungentlemanly” fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.
Joining Cavill are Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Babs Olusanmokun, Henrique Zaga, Til Schweiger, with Henry Golding, and Cary Elwes. This looks like it could be a tremendous amount of fun, and Richie has been knocking out enjoyable action flicks at a prolific rate these last couple of years: The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, and The Covenant have managed to wash the bad taste of the live-action Aladdin remake away.
