Honest Trailers: Fifty Shades Darker

When it comes to understanding the ongoing popularity of the 50 Shades franchise, I am at a loss. I’m no prude, but the tacky and poorly written books by P.L James continue to sell in their millions. Surely there’s nobody left in the world to buy it.

Anyhoo, the movie version of the books is still a thing and earlier this year the sequel, Fifty Shades Darker, was unleashed on an unsuspecting public. While I feel a certain level of glee that the sequel failed to match the box-office success of the first one, the producers decided to shoot parts two and three back to back. Sadly, that does mean that next year we’ll be subjected to another one of these flicks, but on the upside, we can just ignore it until the inevitable reboot in 4D.

Thankfully, those wicked smart folks at Screen Junkies are here to return some order to the universe with their latest Honest Trailer. Armed with their trademark wit and keen observational skills, the Honest Trailer takes Fifty Shades Darker to its own red room and gives it a darn good spanking.

I am a firm believer in being an objective hater of things. What that boils down to is, if you’re going to jump on the hate train for a movie then you have to see it. Simple as that ethic might be, I have limited by Fifty Shades exposure to the Everything Wrong Withs and Honest Trailers. Officially, I’m not allowed to hate the Fifty Shades movie, but I can point and laugh at it. Over to you Epic Voice Guy…
