Say your prayers, Inhabitants is preparing to move in and it’s bringing guilt, grief and something far more malevolent with it. This chilling new possession horror explores the cost of “living in sin” as a young couple find themselves haunted by a dark supernatural force rooted deep in the past.
Directed by Matt McClung (The Mad Whale), Inhabitants uses the haunted house framework to dig into themes of religious trauma, repression and punishment, crafting a slow-burn supernatural thriller that critics are already praising. Horror Buzz calls it “a riveting and terrifying story that still feels original,” while Josh at the Movies describes it as “a carefully orchestrated dose of religious horror” with a strikingly atmospheric edge.
The film stars Josh Rivera (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, West Side Story) as a young man whose unresolved past invites something unspeakable into his present, alongside Anna Jacoby-Heron (Stranger Things, Contagion) as his girlfriend, drawn into the nightmare with him. They’re joined by Ana Auther (Sunset Beach, Days of Our Lives) and comedy legend Kevin Nealon (Saturday Night Live, Weeds), adding unexpected weight and texture to the unsettling descent.
As the couple’s home becomes a battleground between belief and terror, Inhabitants leans hard into creeping dread rather than cheap shocks, allowing unease to build until it feels inescapable. It’s possession horror filtered through personal guilt, where faith becomes both shield and weapon — and escape is anything but guaranteed.
Inhabitants arrives on UK digital from January 26, 2026, courtesy of Miracle Media. Invite it in… if you dare.
