Jumanji was a surprise in more ways than one when it landed in cinemas late 2017. While Dwayne Johnson’s has global appeal, the original Jumanji is a beloved 90s movie, and frankly, it could have gone either way for the new take. As an added obstacle, it was going up against Star Wars The Last Jedi competing for festive moviegoers. As it turned out, Jumanji Welcome The The Jungle was tremendous fun, honoured the original, built on the world, and made a shedload of cash.
Giving Sony a much needed double win for 2017 (alongside Spider-Man Homecoming), Jumanji notched up more than $900 million worldwide. A sequel was swiftly ordered as is due to hit cinemas in a few weeks, to help pass that time, the final trailer for the sequel has arrived with a generous helping of new footage. We’re not in jungle anymore.
In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.
Starring Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman with Danny Glover and Danny DeVito. Jumanji The Next Level is once again going up against Star Wars with its December 13 release
