There’s just over a month to wait before Warner Bros unites its heroes for Justice League and to kick-start the marketing campaign, a brand new trailer just landed.
We get a brief glimpse at a dream sequence Clark Kent (Henry Cavill), but there’s still no sign of the return of Superman after he sacrificed himself at the end of Batman v Superman. There’s plenty of new footage and lots of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman cracking wise and stealing scenes.
Considering that Justice League is the first time all these DC heroes have been on the screen, the behind the scenes goings on have been a constant in the news. The negative reaction to BvS and Suicide Squad caused Warner Bros to rethink Justice League’s tone, and a big part of the additional filming was to add more levity. Then, director Zack Snyder left the project as a result of a devastating family tragedy, and Joss Whedon was drafted in the complete the reshoots.
Now, Joss Whedon knows a thing or two about bringing a team of iconic comic-book characters together having directed two Avengers movies. It remains unclear to what extent the reshoots will reshape the finished film with reports indicating that the entire third act would be reshot.
Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Ciarán Hinds, Willem Dafoe, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, and J. K. Simmons. Justice League unites in cinemas on November 17.
