I don’t know about you, but I’m already attempting to build a time machine to go to 2016 in order to watch Daredevil season 2. My attempts thus far have not garnered the desired result, so during a brief break from building the the flux capacitor I stumbled upon this trailer for Netflix’s next Marvel series Jessica Jones.
Much like Daredevil our first glimpse of the series is a glorified motion poster, but it does give us a flavour of what to expect.
After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.
Krysten Ritter stars as Jessica Jones with support from Mike Colter who debuts as Luke Cage (who will be seen in his own series next year). As we all know, a superhero is only as good as the villain they are up against. Former Doctor Who star David Tennant turns to the dark side to portray Kilgrave aka The Purple Man.
Jessica Jones also stars Carrie-Anne Moss and will feature an appearance or two from Rosario Dawson reprising her Daredevil role as Claire Temple. Adding Dawson offers a neat connection to the established world, and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg has promised an even more envelope pushing tone.
All 13 episodes of Jessica Jones will be available on November 20.
