After a creative partnership with Netflix that yielded The Haunting of Hill House, Bly Manor, the mighty Midnight Mass, and the cancelled too soon The Mightnight Club, Mike Flanagan is ending his Netflix deal in grand style with The Fall of the House of Usher.
Before we all get too concerned, Flanagan struck a new deal with Amazon, and he’s planning on an adaptation of Stephen King’s The DArk Tower. While that might seem like an impossible task, Flanagan turned King’s Gerald’s Game into a nerve-shredding movie, and his take on Doctor Sleep might be the best adaptation of any of King’s work. Getting back to the series at hand, the first trailer for The Fall of the House of Usher has arrived, and it’s fully loaded with many references to the collective works of Edgar Allan Poe.
As you’d expect, it’s another embarresment of riches in the casting department with Bruce Greenwood, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Mark Hamill Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Henry Thomas, T’Nia Miller, Kate Siegel, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Katie Parker, Michael Trucco, Malcolm Goodwin, Crystal Balint, Kyleigh Curran, Paola Nuñez, Aya Furukawa, Matt Biedel, Daniel Jun, Ruth Codd, Annabeth Gish, and king of the monologue Robert Longstreet.
All 8 episodes of The Fall of the House of Usher will land on Netflix on October 12.
