While the title might suggest a dark gritty revival to the 90s Disney series Boy Meets World, Boy Kills World is actually a kick ass action romp starring a jacked Pennywise aka Bill Skarsgård. A brand new UK trailer has landed, and aside from Bill looking in action star shape, his character is deaf and mute, seeking revenge against the crime family responsible for the death of his family. So far, it is a revenge story by numbers, but in addition to some fresh-looking action, Moritz Mohr’s movie has an ace up its sleeve with the legend H. Jon Benjamin, aka Sterling Archer/Bob Belcher, voicing Bill Skarsgård’s character inner voice. Along with Dev Patel’s forthcoming Monkey Man, 2024 is going to be home to some wild action movies!
Boy Kills World won’t be the only action movie starring Bill Skarsgård that sees him out for bloody revenge that will be released in 2024. The long delayed remake of The Crow is finally out this year, the recent first trailer didn’t inspire much confidence in the new take on the cult classic.
Also starring Jessica Rothe, Yayan Ruhian, Isaiah Mustafa, Andrew Koji, Famke Janssen, Brett Gelman, Sharlto Copley and Michelle Dockery. Boy Kills World is set for release on April 26; check out the new trailer below.
Get ready for the most gleefully supercharged action film you’ll see all year. Bill Skarsgård stars as Boy, a deaf-mute with a vivid imagination, driven by his inner voice, one which he co-opted from his favourite childhood video game. He avows revenge after his family is murdered by Hilda Van Der Koy, the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that left the boy orphaned, deafened, and voiceless. Boy trains with a mysterious shaman to become an instrument of death and is set loose on the eve of the annual culling of dissidents. Bedlam ensues as Boy commits bloody martial arts mayhem, inciting a wrath of carnage and bloodletting. As he tries to get his bearings in this delirious realm, Boy soon falls in with a desperate resistance group, all the while bickering with the apparent ghost of his rebellious little sister.
