Osgood Perkins is on an undeniable roll. With Longlegs still fresh in everyone’s nightmares and his Stephen King adaptation The Monkey out earlier this year (and now on Prime), the filmmaker has cemented himself as one of horror’s most fascinating new voices. Now comes the first full trailer for his latest, Keeper, and it looks like another slow-burn descent into dread.

Starring Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland, the film follows a couple celebrating their anniversary at a remote cabin in the woods (what could possibly go wrong?). At first glance, it seems like the setup for a quiet getaway, but the trailer quickly makes clear this won’t be any kind of romantic escape. Instead, we’re given glimpses of strained conversations, unsettling silences, and that creeping sense of something just out of frame. Perkins has always thrived on atmosphere over cheap shocks, and Keeperseems to lean hard into that strength—every shot feels loaded with menace.

After the messy She-Hulk, it’s great to see Maslany take on something challenging, the former Orphan Black star looks to be in raw, vulnerable territory here, playing a woman whose defences start to crack as the weekend spirals. Opposite her, Sutherland brings a quieter, more restrained energy, giving their relationship a tension that feels as dangerous as anything lurking in the shadows.

Visually, the trailer fits perfectly with Perkins’ growing body of work: natural light twisted into something sinister, tight framing that forces you to search the background, and a mood that suggests the real horror comes from the things we don’t say out loud. By the end of the teaser, it’s clear that whatever Keeper has in store, it’s going to be personal, unsettling, and hard to shake.

NEON will release Keeper in cinemas on November 14, and based on this first look, Perkins has another dark trip waiting for us.
