The world can often seem like a cold and unrelenting miserable place at times, but thankfully Paddington Bear is back to inject some much-needed happiness into our lives. Paddington 2 arrives in cinemas next month, and a brand new trailer has landed, go on treat yourself and watch it, you deserve it.
Director Paul King reunites the cast from the impossible not to adore original, with added Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson for good measure. I was genuinely surprised with how much I loved the first Paddington film, a faithful adaptation of the character near perfectly voiced by Ben Whishaw. Colin Firth was originally chosen to play Paddington, he even recorded a full voice over for the first film, but the last minute change saw Whishaw take over from Firth. Ultimately, Paul King made the right decision, but I would love to see Firth join this film series as he has the prerequisite national treasure status.
Here’s the synopsis for more details;
The much-anticipated sequel to the worldwide hit family film finds Paddington happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, where he has become a popular member of the community, spreading joy and marmalade wherever he goes. While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s hundredth birthday, Paddington spots a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop, and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief.
Also starring Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, and Peter Capaldi, Paddington 2 is released in the UK on November 10.
